Democracy should love you back.

We help communities and governments usher in a new era of democracy. If we want to stop doing bad things to each other, we have to start doing good things together.

Start something bold

We build direct democracy into the bones of public decision-making. From launching digital engagement platforms to standing up youth fellowships, we partner with governments and organizers to create participatory systems that actually shift power, not just perform it.

Design Participatory Processes

We build systems where people directly decide budgets and policy. Whether you're launching a new process or redesigning an old one, we help you do it right.

Deploy Digital Democracy Tools

We upgrade governments using Decidim, the leading open-source platform for participatory democracy. Technology should amplify voices, not flatten them.

Build Power by Investing in People

We train staff and mentor youth to lead processes with integrity, strategy, and imagination. The goal isn’t just a better process, it’s a stronger public.

How we work We meet your moment and deliver participation systems based on your goals, values, and audiences.

  • Plug-in or Turnkey: We can join your existing team and accelerate what’s already moving or run a process end-to-end and deliver results with you on stage.

  • Move fast/move sustainably: We can turn something around quickly or partner together over time to build depth and durability. We're flexible.

  • Build local capacity: We train staff, facilitators, and youth fellows so the work outlives any single project and gets easier each cycle.

portrait of Francesco
I'm Francesco Tena, and I build the kind of democracy that loves you back.

Not engagement-as-theater. Real decisions, made with the people who live the outcomes.

In 2014, I helped launch Youth Lead the Change in Boston, the first youth-led participatory budgeting process in the country, and watched teenagers move real money and rewire what adults thought was possible. I’ve run city programs, trained staff, and stood up open-source tools like Decidim in NYC so communities can propose, debate, and vote in the open. I spent a year as an Obama Foundation Scholar, learning from democratic changemakers from all over the world.

I started Wildest Future to answer these questions: can direct democracy remind us how to trust not just each other, but ourselves too? On that foundation of trust, can we learn how to wield our collective power? And can that power be used to guide the world towards peace and liberation for all of us?
